Ottawa Sport Council Foundation

The Ottawa Sport Council (OSC) acts as the united voice for sport for all. Its mission is to enrich the sporting experience in our nation’s capital by promoting healthy living, celebrating sports excellence, and making programs more accessible—so everyone is free to participate.

 Ottawa Sport Council supports and encourages all sports, in order to create a diverse and multifaceted sporting community. Through our work, we strive to encourage participation in sport by community members of all ages, genders, ethnicities, cultures, income-levels and abilities.

As an advocate of sport, we strive to assist, support and influence the growth of sport in Ottawa by:
Advocating the values and benefits of sport
Increasing the profile of amateur sport
Facilitating education and training opportunities for athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, parents and volunteers
Acting as a resource for amateur sport organizations
We strive to encourage and facilitate sport tourism in Ottawa, through partnering with Events Ottawa on bidding for and hosting provincial, national and international sporting events.
In conjunction with the City of Ottawa Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department, we are working toward the development of a Municipal Sport Strategy to address and support the growth of amateur sport in Ottawa
