About

The Danish Family Planning Association works on a mission to fight for sexual and reproductive rights; strengthen each person’s chances of making free and informed choices about sexuality, sexual health, contraception and abortion and advocate for everybody’s right to information and health services to sexuality, pregnancy and childbirth.

For more than 60 years we have fought for the right to rule over one's own body.

What started with a group of female doctors' fight to prevent unwanted pregnancies for women in Denmark, has now grown into a fight for the sexual health and rights of all people in and outside Denmark. And the fight is as important as it was then.

Since Dr. Agnete Bræstrup took the first steps towards founding the organization, we have been a member of the world's leading family planning organization, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

In Sex & Society, we work according to a code of conduct, which contains  guidelines for employee behavior to protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse.

If an employee, volunteer or board member suspects, is alerted to or witnesses harassment, abuse of children and vulnerable adults, abuse of power, irresponsible use of trusted means or other violation of the Code of Conduct, he or she is required to inform a leader of the organization .

The same applies if an employee, volunteer or board member suspects, is made aware of or witnesses a violation of Sex & Society's anti-corruption policy.

If you do not feel comfortable reporting to a leader in the organization, you can report to IPPF SafeReport , which is Sex & Samfund's external reporting service.
