About

We provide Ecuadorians with the best experience of convergent telecommunications and Information and communications technology (ICT) services, for their development and integration into the world, promoting the growth of our people and creating value for society.

CNT is a mobile network operating in Ecuador. The now state-owned operator entered the market in 2003 as Telecsa S.A. (branded Alegro), the product of Andinatel and Pacifictel S.A. Alegro's 450 MHz CDMA network had limited success and was absorbed by Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) in 2010 to become a wholly state-owned network.

The company changed technology to deploy a 2G GSM service over the 1900 MHz band in December 2007. CNT later launched 3G UMTS over B2 (1900 MHz) in 2013. CNT was the first mobile network operator to launch 4G LTE services with its activation in December 2013 using B4 (1700 MHz). CNT holds 2x15 MHz spectrum in the APT700 band, however to date no B28 (700 MHz) services have been activated.
