About
Radio Television Nationale Congolaise (RTNC) is a state-owned radio and television company based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is headquartered in Kinshasa in the Municipality of Lingwala.
RTNC’s goal is to provide public radio and television services, inform, train and educate the Congolese population, create and promote cinematographic and other related productions as well as produce, promote and sell advertising space. Its radio activities include RTNC National Channel, Kinshasa, Bandundu, Bukavu, Goma, Kat (Lubumbashi), Kindu, Kisangani, MbujiMayi and Mbandaka. RTNC covers 70% of Congolese territory and operates two television channels, RTNC1 – a general-interest channel with national coverage and RTNC2 – a provincial public commercial and entertainment channel in Kinshasa. In the 2000s, RTNC gained control of two more TV channels – RTNC3 & RTNC4 which made the Congolese state the largest promoter of the audio-visual sector.
