The Association of the Center for the Support of Non-Governmental Organizations in Białystok was established on the initiative of a dozen or so people involved in the implementation of various projects to support the third sector in Podlaskie Voivodeship. Postulates of non-governmental organizations from the 2nd Regional Forum of Non-governmental Initiatives were related to the need to create a permanent, systematically functioning training and information point for NGOs.

The enormity of tasks and the growing number of people interested in counseling mobilized to establish an association, which in 1999 became the Center for Supporting Non-governmental Organizations. From April 2000, we were included in the nationwide network of supporting non-governmental organizations SPLOT.
