Created by Law No. 2012-018 on Electronic Communications (LCE) of December 17, 2012 amended by Law No. 2013-003 of February 19, 2019 to regulate the electronic communications and postal markets in a context of modernity and he technological development, ARCEP must take on several missions, the most important of which are:

Management and control of operators authorized by the Government to establish and operate networks and services open to the public

  • Negotiate specifications with operators of networks and services open to the public;
  • Control the obligations listed in the specifications of operators operating networks and services open to the public;
  • Approve operator interconnection and access catalogs;
  • Settle disputes between operators.

Issuance of authorizations for independent networks - terminal equipment approvals and installer approvals - Certificate of registration for value-added service providers

  • Authorize independent networks for private or shared use, in particular for companies, banks, international organizations, international cooperation organizations, embassies;
  • Issue approvals for radio equipment and installers of radio equipment;
  • Issue the registration certificate to declared service providers.

Resource management

  • Manage and control radio frequencies
  • Management, assignment and control of radio frequencies in accordance with the National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF), excluding frequencies for audiovisual services and defence;
  • Collaboration with other players such as the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) for aeronautical frequencies;
  • Manage dial plan
  • Adoption and management of the numbering plan;
  • Allocation of numbering resources;
  • Manage the national Internet domain ".tg"
  • Administrative and technical management of the national “.tg” registry;
  • Accreditation of Registrars;
  • Adoption of the naming charter for “.tg” and guarantor of its respect.
