The Swedish Forest Agency has been assigned the task by the Swedish government to enable an active Swedish involvement in international forest policy processes and reporting. The Swedish Forest Agency supports the government with expert advice. The Agency also represents Sweden in various forest related processes, both within the EU and internationally.

As regards our own capacity building we take part in different forms of forest cooperation efforts, for example in the form of EU projects. Within the framework of the Swedish Policy for Global Development (PGD) we are also engaged in development-aid related projects. Moreover, the Swedish Forest Agency has been designated to participate in different types of international reporting efforts, amongst others led by FAO, UNECE and EUROSTAT.
