About

Alianza por la Solidaridad was born in Spain more than 30 years ago. Since then we have fought tirelessly against inequalities and injustices . In these three decades we have evolved, assuming new challenges, adapting to new realities, but always with the ambition of being heard louder and stronger.

Alliance for Solidarity is born as a result of the merger of three organizations that, born in the 1980s, shared a common vision of international cooperation: International Solidarity, IPADE and Habitáfrica.

In June 2018 – we became a member of Action Aid, an International Federation made up of 46 countries. Action Aid was founded in 1972 by Cecil Jackson-Cole and was born as a sponsorship organization. In 1990, it adopted a human rights protection approach. Action Aid is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Our incorporation into the Action Aid network has meant expanding our work to more than 50 countries on 5 continents, achieving greater visibility and impact. We have also achieved greater efficiency in our political pressure.
