Cluster Excellence Denmark is a sparring and collaboration partner for clusters, authorities and the innovation and business promotion system at home and abroad.

In Denmark, there are 14 national and publicly funded clusters. The 14 national clusters represent the business and technology areas that have been designated as Denmark's strengths. Within each area, a strong ecosystem exists consisting of companies, knowledge institutions, public actors and others such as industry organizations, financial actors and various innovation and business promotion actors.

The 14 national clusters are a key tool in the overall Danish innovation and business promotion system. The clusters help to ensure that the innovation and business promotion system has coherence without overlap and a clear division of labor, so that companies experience a clear and focused system. The business promotion strategy focuses on companies throughout Denmark strengthening their competitiveness through innovation, and here the nationwide cluster organizations are important players. The clusters are catalysts for innovation, development and growth, as they bring together entire ecosystems and are a link between companies, knowledge institutions and others.
