About

NAVAJEEVAN ORGANIZATION has emerged during 1996 when the situation in and around tribal and rural villages was in dire condition due to poverty, lack of commitment to deliver services by the duty bearers, poor infrastructure and harassment and dominance of money lenders what not. A group of development practitioners who have commendable experience in understanding the conditions of tribal and rural communities, who has executed activities including social entitlements, creating awareness on  human rights and land related issues came together and established the organization to balance the imbalance and bring the equity.

Community and key stakeholders including rights based organizations and donors extended their support to the NAVAJEEVAN ORGANIZATION to reach unreached people and empower them to access and avail their basic and fundamental rights. Since inception the organizations has focused on creating awareness and fight for their rights by themselves by the Dalits and Adivasis and initiated various programs at Venkatagiri, Balayapalli, Dakkili, Ozili mandals. The organization implemented all the activities with the people’s participation and build people’s institutions. In post tsunami it has started working with victims in the coastal belt in Kavali, Bogole, Allur, and Vidavalur, Indukurpet, and TP Gudur mandals covering 50 villages in Nellore district. The community development process i.e. sensitization, capacity building has emerged as one of the key interventions.

Based on the needs and interests of the communities the organization has taken up projects including STI/HIV/AIDS and bringing behavior change among the vulnerable and high risk population including female sex workers.
