About

TKV is a private, non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1969 to support agricultural and rural development, including the elimination of poverty in the short-term of Turkey. Its field of activity is primarily rural development, economic, social and human development. The TKV system emerged in 20 regions throughout Turkey through the implementation of development projects in a wide area through a local and nationwide organizational network. Its staff consists of professional managers, experts in the field and technicians, most of whom work as additional representatives.

Mission:
The mission of TKV is to increase the income level and quality of life of resource-poor households in rural areas and to eliminate poverty through participatory rural development projects.

Objectives:
- To develop activities that will create opportunities for income generation and ownership of means of production,
- To help individuals, households and communities acquire managerial, organizational and technical skills,
- To develop the organizational and participation capacities of target groups,
- To develop environmental awareness and increase the capacity to protect and evaluate the environment.

Target Group: While the Foundation's activities were limited to social assistance to farmers in its early years, it expanded its activities in different provinces of the country, especially in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions. Since 1973, the Foundation has begun to reach thousands of small farmers and landless people through comprehensive development projects. The main target groups in the Foundation's activities are small farmers and resource-poor households, and special attention is given to women and youth in these households.
