COMPED - Cambodian Education and Waste Management Organization

COMPED is a non-governmental organization established in 2000 and officially registered at the Ministry of Interior in 2003.

The main aims are:

• Co-operation with local authorities in dealing with the waste crisis, saving the environment and the reduction ofgreenhouse gas emissions by reducing the amount of organic waste diposed into dump site by promoting thecompost approach;
• Exchanging experience with farmers to improve the quality of agricultural soil and to increase the quantity andquality of agricultural products through the use of compost; 
• Providing more educational opportunities for poor and disadvantaged children and youths through the godparentprogram.
