Banyakole Kweterana Cooperative Union BKCU

Banyankole Kweterana Cooperative Union is a producer organization Registered in Uganda as a Cooperative Institution. It was founded in 1958 by primary cooperative societies in the South Western Uganda (Ankole Region). Currently its membership stand at 350 primary cooperative societies, each society with an average (individuals) membership of 300, totaling to 105.000 members.

Banyankole Kweterana Cooperative Union suffered from the wars and has been revived in 2009.

The main activities for the union are;

- Agricultural extension services to members.

- Value addition and marketing of farmers coffee.

- Strengthening the leadership and Governance capacity of its member societies for sustainability of their income.

The main crop being handled to-date is Robusta and Arabica Coffee.

Banyankole Kweterana Cooperative union has:

- Value Addition processing machinery.

- Coffee Grading plant.
