About
Population Services International (PSI) is an international health organization dedicated to improving the health of people in low-income and disadvantaged regions worldwide. PSI offers a variety of health products and services, as well as behavior change communication initiatives, such as family planning, maternity and child health, the prevention and treatment of HIV, and malaria control.
PSI Myanmar was created in 1995 with the goal of preventing HIV, but it swiftly extended its functions into reproductive health and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases. Malaria prevention medicines were introduced to its portfolio in 2001, which has since expanded to include pneumonia and diarrhea treatment. PSI Myanmar is headquartered in Yangon, Myanmar's former capital and commercial center, and operates seven smaller project offices throughout the entire nation.
It now collaborates with the public and commercial sectors and the local communities to make certain that its activities are consistent with national health objectives and policies. In addition, the organization undertakes research and monitoring to educate and improve the effectiveness of its activities.
