Agusta Westland SPA subsidiary of (Leonardo)

AgustaWestland (branded as Leonardo Helicopters since January 2016) was a helicopter design and manufacturing company. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Leonardo S.p.A. (previously Finmeccanica). It was formed in July 2000 as an Anglo-Italian multinational company, when Finmeccanica and GKN merged their respective helicopter subsidiaries (Agusta and Westland Helicopters) to form AgustaWestland,with each holding a 50% share. Finmeccanica acquired GKN's stake in AgustaWestland in 2004.

The Helicopters Division  of Leonardo manages the design, development, testing, production, support and marketing of the wide range of helicopters of Leonardo, the most complete ever for commercial, public utility, security and defense.

 The production covers all the main weight categories, from the single-engine 1.8-ton to the 16-ton trimotore. All helicopters are highly integrated for dual use, with the exception of some used for specific military uses (NH90, Super Lynx 300, AW159 and AW101). The Division is able to manage the design of the entire cycle of the helicopter system.

 The production plants, concentrated in Italy, United Kingdom, Poland and the United States, act in an integrated way and are organized around "centers of excellence" that support the final assembly lines, located in Vergiate and Tessera in Italy, in Yeovil in the Kingdom United, in Świdnik in Poland and in Philadelphia in the United States.
