About

The School of Economics and Management of China Agricultural University originated from the Department of Agricultural Economics established in 1927 by the Agricultural College of National Peking University. In 1949, the former School of Agriculture of Peking University, School of Agriculture of Tsinghua University and School of Agriculture of North China University merged to form Beijing Agricultural University, which also established the Department of Agricultural Economics. In 1952, when the colleges and universities were adjusted, a group of famous agricultural economists were selected from all over the country to strengthen the Agricultural Economics Department of Beijing Agricultural University. In 1985, it was expanded into the School of Agricultural Economics and Management, and in 1993, it was expanded into the School of Economics and Management. The former School of Management Engineering was founded in 1995 by the merger of the former School of Township Enterprise and Social Development, Management Engineering Teaching and Research Section, Systems Engineering Teaching and Research Section and Agricultural Economics Teaching and Research Section of China Agricultural University. In June 2002, the School of Economics and Management and the School of Management Engineering merged to form the current School of Economics and Management.
