About
The National Society for Earthquake Technology (NSET), headquartered in Sainbu in Nepal is a non-profit organization that focuses on Earthquake Risk Management (ERM).
Established as an NGO in 1994, NSET now has a Management Committee made of eight members and a president. NSET’s team also includes professional engineers, architects, scientists and others who are seriously interested in the phenomena of earthquakes.
NSET’s office is equipped with all the necessary technology to achieve its mission to offer all Nepal’s institutions the information, technical knowledge and skills needed in order to minimize earthquake risks and build safer communities.
It aspires to become the strongest and most credible institution in terms of ERM in Nepal and this vision is reflected in its recently released 10-Year Strategic Plan (2021-2030) in which it states that it will use its 28 years of activity in managing multi-hazard risks to develop Disaster Resilient Communities in Nepal by 2050.
