CTOP - Coordination Togolaise des Organisations Paysannes et de Producteurs Agricoles is the culmination of a process of resumption of control of the Togolese peasant world by the peasants following the withdrawal of the State driven by the structural adjustment programs. The birth of the CTOP follows one year that of the Network of Farmers' Organizations and Producers of West Africa (ROPPA) in Benin, which confirmed the desire to acquire a consultation framework with the mandate to represent and defend the interests of agricultural producers in Togo.
