FRC - French Red Cross / Croix Rouge Francaise (Mauritania)

French Red Cross has been present in Mauritania through health programmes (HIV/AIDS, nutrition, maternal and child health), economic and social recovery and food and nutrition security, and risk and disaster management. The French Red Cross, as the National Partner Society, works in conjunction with the Mauritanian Red Crescent (MRC), which is the National Host Society, while providing technical support and capacity building. Since January 2022, a first project in risk and disaster management has been launched in Bassikounou with funding from UNICEF and ECHO, in partnership with regional political and administrative leaders as well as civil society actors in a NEXUS approach, thus linking the three pillars of humanitarian, development and peace.
