Present since 1988 in Vietnam, GRET intervenes in four fields: agriculture; citizenships; drinking water, sanitation, waste; natural resource management and energy.

In 2012, the economic crisis worsened in Vietnam, with GDP growth hitting its lowest point since 1999, 5%. The government prioritized macroeconomic stability rather than betting it all on growth as it had previously.
GRET’s activities in Vietnam held steady, with an increase in expertise activities: technical assistance for the development of agricultural value chains in Cao Bang province and institutional support to the Gia Binh irrigation system.
