Hummingbird's mission is to harness the power of blood bourne miRNAs to “read” the immune system’s response to disease, enhancing the potential for innovative disease screening, symptom-based diagnostics, disease-specific prognostics as well as monitoring of patient-centric therapies. The Hummingbird Diagnostics GmbH (HBDx; formerly known as Comprehensive Biomarker Center) discovers, validates and analyzes genomic biomarkers with a focus on body fluid samples, like whole blood (PAXgene), serum, plasma (Exosomes), urine, and CSF. The HBDx-Team has already identified biomarker signatures for more than 40 different diseases in a total of > 300 studies and > 4.000 samples.
