About

SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) was founded by investment banking consultant, Michael Osheowitz, as a mentoring program to help underserved students gain admission to competitive colleges and universities. Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) was founded in 1963 with a mission to provide academic enrichment and career development opportunities to talented young people from underserved and underrepresented communities. Over the past four decades, SEO has expanded its programs to benefit more than 6,000 young people, helping them develop throughout high school, college, and their careers. SEO provides services through four major programs: SEO Career, SEO Scholars, SEO Alternative Investments, and SEO Alumni. Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) is a non-profit organization providing supplemental educational and career support to young people from underserved communities.

For over 50 years, SEO has been an innovator in education, mentorship, positive peer pressure, high standards, and networks to turn untapped potential into newfound greatness. We are creating an ecosystem of excellence, and propelling human potential.

Since 1963, SEO has made a lifetime of achievement possible for more than 21,000 talented young people from underserved and underrepresented communities.

SEO's mission is to create a more equitable society by closing the academic and career opportunity gap for motivated young people from underserved and historically excluded communities. Each year, SEO programs serve more than 6,000 young people across America.
