About
The village of Neded was founded in 1111 in southern Slovakia, 80 km from Bratislava, on the lower course of the Váh between the towns of Šaľa and Kolárov. Legend has it that the inhabitants of the village were engaged in fishing and raising farm animals, and in the winter months in weaving and knitting. One quarter of the fish caught and the cloth woven had to be given to the landlord, which gave rise to the nickname that is in the name of the village.
During the Tatar-Turkish devastation, many people also settled in this village. In 1710, the village was hit by a plague epidemic. In the 18th century churches were gradually built, and the inhabitants began to focus on the development of agricultural production.
