Founded by the Swiss government in 2000, the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) is an intergovernmental foundation-based research organization that assists governments and international stakeholders to enhance security sector governance and reform through study and project assistance. As of 2018, it employed approximately 170 people, had seven operational offices and 63 member countries.
