About

Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is a Nigerian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It started its operations in 2004 but was formally registered in January 2005 with Okigwe Local Government Area, Imo State and in June 2009 at the National level with the Corporate Affairs Commission with registration number (WEWE CAC/IT/No. 33132).

Mission

Harnessing potentials of widows, orphans, and vulnerable segment to become productive entities in the society through advocacy, capacity building, economic empowerment and human rights program.

Vision

To build the capacity of widows, vulnerable women and their orphans to stand together for their rights to actively contribute to civil society, governance and leadership in Nigeria and Africa.

Goal & Objectives

The organization's goal: To advocate for, and promote the right of widows, vulnerable women and orphans in Nigeria and Africa at large.

The organization strategic objectives are:

-To build capacity of community based organizations (CBOs) to empower families at the community level.

-To empower families to access health care, safe water, good nutrition, micro credit for income generating activities and education.

-To promote activities that assist widows, orphans and vulnerable people to fight for their rights and improve their lives.
