BBC Media Action , formerly known as the BBC World Service Trust, is the BBC's international development charity. We use media and communications to help reduce poverty and support people in understanding their rights. For over a decade we have been working to help transform lives in some of the poorest, hardest-to-reach parts of the world. Our aim is to inform, connect and empower people around the world. The global reach and reputation of the BBC strengthen our work. But we are not funded by the UK TV licence fee.
