Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Haiti

As part of the Organic Law of 24 November 1983, the Haitian State has assigned to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST), among other attributions, the following:

-Defining and implementing the Government's social policy;
-Provide the protection of workers both in the formal and informal sectors of the economy, and improve their living and working conditions;
- Establish, on the basis of national solidarity, an appropriate social security scheme against physiological, economic, social and other risks;
-Take the fight against hunger, malnutrition, unemployment and pauperism;
-Create, authorize, encourage and supervise both public and social welfare and welfare works
