HEKS/EPER (Bangladesh)

HEKS/EPER has been working in Bangladesh since the country’s independence in 1971. HEKS/EPER works in the areas of humanitarian aid, mainly providing relief and rehabilitation, as well as in development cooperation through its country office in Bangladesh. The organization is registered with NGO Affairs Bureau under the Foreign Donations Regulation Ordinance 1978.

The focus of HEKS/EPER interventions in Bangladesh targets social, ethnic and religious minorities, specifically Dalits and plainland Adibashis on the north-western part of the country. They are the most marginalized and socially excluded people of Bangladesh. The country programme is aimed at the social inclusion of these vulnerable groups, promoting greater enjoyment of equal rights and equal economic opportunities.
