SPMB [São Paulo-Manitoba] was founded in 1998 as a research-based design practice. For the past 24 years spmb has been practicing public art across Canada, and exhibiting in Brazil and Europe. spmb approaches public art “in response,” which means there is no preconception of the art, but the public art is generated by dialogue, consultation, listening, always looking for cues from the community involved in order to generate the artwork. This approach has been proven successful in many projects, generating meaningful public artworks, responding to the respective communities’ desires and expectations. spmb is a registered company with a GST number, which carries a commercial general liability insurance for $ 2,000.000.00.
