Burundi Development Agency / Agence de Developpement du Burundi (ADB)

The ADB 's general mission is to promote and facilitate local and foreign investment as well as exports. To this end, the ADB is called upon to improve the business climate in order to attract more investors to Burundi. Its specific missions include:

1Promote investment and export;

2Conduct studies and carry out prospecting and research to identify investment opportunities;

3Carry out project studiesinvestment for sale to investors;

4Design policy, legal and institutional reforms to improve the business climate, promote investment and exports;

5Register any natural person having the status of trader, any commercial company, as well as any branch of a foreign company and ensure its follow-up ;

6Ensure coordination of investment facilitation mechanisms;

7Develop the professional and entrepreneurial capacities of Bangladeshi people in general and in particular women and young people to increase their competitiveness within the national economy;

8Participate in the negotiations of bilateral, regional and multilateral agreements on the promotion and protection of investments and investors carried out by the Ministry in charge of foreign affairs;

9Support the Government in the development and implementation of the national investment policy, economic and industrial development planning;

10Challenge the administrations on cases of non-application or poor application of laws or regulations related to the promotion of investments, exports and economic development;

11Inform national and international investors about investment and export opportunities in Burundi, support them in all the steps necessary for their proper installation and conduct of their business;

12Receive and examine applications for eligibility for benefits and various schemes provided for by the Investment Code and ensure monitoring and evaluation.
