About
PA Sierra Leone’s first study was in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture to understand the impact of NERICA rice, an improved rice variety aimed at lowering child malnutrition. Our focus then switched to the health sector with a study on village involvement in monitoring clinic service provision. The study results, while showing limited impact, increased the Ministry of Health’s interest in having more data and better evidence to guide their decisions. During the Ebola crisis, IPA worked to design and implement a system for electronic Ebola Contact Tracing in the worst affected districts. As Sierra Leone focuses on recovery, IPA is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health on three evaluations.
