Alliance of Organizations for Persons with Disabilities from the Republic of Moldova / Alianța Organizațiilor pentru Persoane cu Dizabilități din Republica Moldova - AOPD

On September 27, 2007, the Association "Alliance of Organizations for Persons with Disabilities from the Republic of Moldova" (AOPD) was registered at the Ministry of Justice with the number 1013620006757 as a legal entity, being an open, independent and apolitical union, formed by NGOs active in the field the rights of persons with disabilities.

From 2001 until 2007, the NGOs participating in the National Forum of NGOs constituted the Alliance of NGOs active in the field of social protection of people with disabilities. This functioned as an informal structure, whose members collaborated and implemented joint actions and projects based on a Memorandum of Collaboration.

Currently, AOPD gathers 51 member NGOs from all over the territory of the Republic of Moldova and operates based on voluntary principles to which any profile organization can join, sharing the goals and objectives of the Association.

The mission of AOPD is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova by collaborating with the public authorities of the state in order to create an environment with equal opportunities to realize the potential for people with disabilities.

Vision: People with disabilities socially integrated and with equal opportunities to realize their potential in the Republic of Moldova.
