About

Blue Cross Nyatike Community Development Programme (BCDP) is a Christian organization dedicated to building and supporting the development of self-sustaining care and support systems for children, women and youth. BCDP was registered in Kenya as a community based organization (CBO) in 2007. The organization was an initiative of a former orphan, and is founded on the Christian fundamentalprinciples of love and compassion to the needy. Headquartered in the Southern shores of Lake Victoria at Nyatike in Migori County, Kenya, BCDP operates in Western Kenya in Migori County and Coastal Kenya in Taita Taveta County.
BCDP empowers and supports individuals and groups in their effort to mitigatethe impacts of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB and other diseases. In particular, BCDP promotes the involvement of local communities in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of interventions; undertakes influencing work (advocacy, movement building), brokers strategic partnerships with government and nongovernmental agencies and organizations; leverages l o c a l resources, and facilitates capacity development as a basis of developing and supporting innovative approaches that addressthe structural and systemic exuberate the socioeconomic impacts of HIV/AIDS,Malaria, TB and other diseases.
Since its inception in 2007, BCDP has been implementing a family based orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)care Model, HIV interventions, Community case management of malaria, primary eye care among other projects.
