Momentus Global’s mission is to equip catalysts of development around the world to do their important work. For over two decades, our firm has worked with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), Development Finance Institutions (FIs), Governments, Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), Eximbanks, Foundations, their development partners and other development finance ecosystem players to analyze market needs and develop policy and product solutions that work with the grain of the private market. Our focus is financial solutions and instruments that catalyze private capital, aligning risk appetite and strategic interests to development needs through strategy development, institutional assessments, training and capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) among other areas. ur cross-cutting work also entails developing disaster risk management assessment tools such as Momentus Global’s DRM Diagnostic Tool which was developed for the Government of the Bahamas. We use a scorecard with a traffic light system to rate each dimension. We know disaster risk management is crucial for saving lives, reducing economic losses, building resilience, and ensuring sustainable development in the face of the ever-present threat of disasters. By investing in proactive measures, societies can better protect themselves and their future generations from the impacts of unforeseen events.

Momentus Global brings unparalleled understanding of how MDBs, DFIs and financial intermediaries operate, from strategy and governance to risk management, impact measurement and reporting, funding strategies, to the design and operationalization of innovative financial mechanisms and products aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. We have designed products and programs that address specific development challenges, such as a pioneering climate carbon delivery guarantee product for CDM projects in the mid 2000s. e have been awarded the 2018 Outstanding Development Project Award in the category of Human Capital Development by Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) for our work the Uganda Development Bank. In October 2021, we were awarded a plaque of merit from ADFIAP for the establishment of the Centre of Excellence for National Development Banks (www.cendb.org).

We have been widely published, both for technical audiences and the broader public, on a range of development topics. Momentus Global also co-authored with Acre Impact Capital (www.acre.capital) the White Paper on Sustainability in Export Finance for the International Chamber of Commerce which received the Export Finance Industry Innovation Award at the TXF Global 2022 Awards Ceremony and the GTR Industry Achievement Award 2022, recognised by Global Trade Review. We also co-authored a report with IFAD called Food Systems Finance for Resilient Futures: an MDB and NDB Collaboration Roadmap, published at the Finance in Common Summit 2023.
