About
CARE International first began working in Guinea in the 1990s in response to refugees fleeing violence from wars in the neighboring countries of Liberia and Sierra Leone. Through The UN Refugee Agency, CARE International worked in refugee camps until leaving Guinea in 2001.
CARE International currently operates in Guinea through our Côte d'Ivoire office. Today, our work focuses on women's empowerment, social cohesion, clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, and resilience to the climate emergency.
