About
Centro Afro Carioca de Cinema will hold “VIVA O CINEMA”, a RioFilmes award, where we will use the film collection of the Black Cinema Meetings Brazil-Africa-Caribbean, Zózimo Bulbul, the preservation of memory, the organization of interviews of Zózimo Bulbul.
We believe that cultural expressions of popular roots are responsible for the most contemporary forms of transformation and in this very strong and chaotic political moment that our country is going through, where our achievements are threatened, we bring the Empowerment of the Women who have taken over the activities of the Centro Afrocarioca of Cinema since 2013.
We also want to focus on our first specific exhibition on: “Female Perspectives in Black Cinema”. This look has been traced throughout the Cinema Meetings that have taken place since 2007 under the curatorship of Zózimo Bulbul (2007 to 2012) and Joel Zito Araújo (2014 and 2015).
In this way, we expand the dissemination of African films, encourage national and international cultural exchange among young people who participate in our projects and frequent our Ponto de Cultura, as well as the general public.
