About
The Center for Air Navigation Studies (CENA) was the French organization responsible for the development of the French air traffic control system ( CAUTRA ) from 1959 until the mid-1980s. It then devoted itself to studies and research applied in the field of air traffic management until its disappearance in 2005. Its history is inseparable from that of French air traffic control and its automation. A sociology thesis was devoted to it by Sophie Poirot-Delpech in 1995 1 , and a site 2 , developed and updated by former volunteer members, is entirely dedicated to saving CENA notes and reports.
