About

This federation is envisioned as a bridge between the state and the farmers by coordinating the organized farmer groups from the local level to the central level for the protection, development and production and distribution of the agricultural sector, which is occupying a very sensitive position in the economic and social progress and overall development of the country. Although nearly two-thirds of the people of the country are farmers, the country is not able to become self-sufficient in agricultural production. Endangered species of native birds have reached an endangered status. The country is becoming dependent on fertilisers, pesticides and equipment. Agriculture has not been established as a respectable profession, on the one hand, young manpower is increasing and on the other hand, the agricultural sector has reached the shoulders of women and the elderly. National Federation of Farmers' Federation of Nepal has been established to develop the capacity of the farmers' groups which are formed and functioning all over the country through the government of Nepal to make the welfare of the agriculture-dominated country worthwhile in accordance with the inclusive democratic system based on good governance as well as to coordinate with the government and non-governmental organizations in the development campaign.
