Jhpiego is a nonprofit global leader in the creation and delivery of transformative health care solutions for the developing world. Our aim is revolutionizing health care for the planet’s most disadvantaged people.

Since 1999, our goal in Bangladesh has been to protect women’s health. Jhpiego helped establish a national-level Technical and Advisory Committee for maternal immunization and developed health facilities readiness assessment tools for maternal immunization.

With the Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Bangladesh, Jhpiego introduced use of injectable magnesium sulfate for management of severe pre-eclampsia (a condition of pregnancy characterized by high blood pressure and protein in the urine) and eclampsia (the onset of seizures in a woman with severe pre-eclampsia). This lifesaving intervention has been rolled out to 140 health care facilities.
