AFRIA - Agence pour la Formation et la Recherche en Intelligence Artificielle

AFRIA is an international non-governmental organization established in 2019, with its international headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and a French representation in Cachan, France. The organization aims to support Francophone countries, particularly in Africa, in the responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies to promote sustainable development. AFRIA focuses on areas such as AI governance, education and research, and media engagement. Notably, it has launched initiatives like the Women IA and BigData Academy, aiming to train 1,000 young women in AI and Big Data by 2027. The organization also plans to establish its African headquarters in Aného, Togo, to further its mission on the continent.
