Description
ECHO Egypt is part of the European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO). It coordinates EU humanitarian assistance in Egypt, focusing on crises such as the Sudanese refugee influx. Since April 2023, over 700,000 people have fled Sudan, with more than 460,000 seeking refuge in Egypt. The EU has allocated €9 million in 2024 and €47 million since 2015 to support these efforts.
