TAM was established in September 2003 by a group of media women and activists in community work. It was registered in February 2004 under the Law of Charitable Associations and NGOs No. 1 of 2000. The idea of establishing the Association for the Development and Media of Women was initiated by a group of women media professionals who felt that there was a severe shortage of programs and information materials on social and feminist issues in Palestine and their strong belief in the importance of media as an essential tool of development Community, Empowerment of Women and the Use of Media as a Means of Development and Dissemination of Gender Concepts The Association for the Development and Media of Women (Tam) was founded in September 2003 and headquartered in Bethlehem, and its scope of work in Palestine.
The Society for the Development and Media of Women (TAM) is based on the principles of human rights, gender, democracy, justice, non-violence, dialogue, combating all forms of discrimination, protecting physical and moral freedoms, active participation, creativity and creativity.
