About
On May 3, 1988, the Azores Institute of Technological Innovation – INOVA was founded in response to the need to minimize the technological deficit that separates the Region from the national whole and from other European countries and as a need to meet the specific characteristics of the regional business fabric, which is small in size, fragmented and traditionally not very open to the outside world.
Since then, INOVA has sought to fulfil the purpose for which it was created, promoting technological development, technology transfer, the provision of specialised and quality services to support regional industry and promoting applied research.
Since its creation, INOVA has established itself as a leading technological infrastructure in the regional context, of added strategic importance and necessary for the development of the Azorean business community and economy.
