About

  •

iHope is a Lebanese non-profit organization dedicated to reuniting families separated by international parental child abduction (IPCA). Founded in 2017 and officially registered in 2021, iHope is headquartered in Tripoli, Lebanon. The organization consists of a team of legal professionals who leverage their expertise to provide hope and resolution to affected families through advocacy and litigation.  iHope's mission is to Help, Offer, Protect, and Empower outcasted individuals, particularly children, as well as to defend human rights and shed light on the abuse, injustice, and faults in the judicial system.

iHope has been actively involved in addressing the issue of IPCA in the Middle East, the US, and Europe for almost a decade, partnering with various governmental and non-governmental entities. The organization has successfully reunited several abducted children with their families in their habitual residence through strategic litigation, advocacy, and mediation. iHope has also conducted several IPCA workshops, raising awareness and promoting the importance of advocacy and litigation in resolving IPCA cases.

iHope offers a range of services to address IPCA, including:

  • Capacity Building & Community Engagement: Training programs for legal professionals and students, and community initiatives to build a supportive network for families dealing with abduction.

  • Advocacy and Awareness: Public campaigns and outreach programs to raise awareness about IPCA and promote the rights of affected families.

  • Mediation: Mediation services to facilitate resolution in custody disputes, prioritizing the best interests of the child.

  • Legal Support and Resources: Connecting families with legal resources and experienced professionals to guide them through the complexities of IPCA.

  • Research and Policy Development: Research to inform policy development and advocate for legal reforms that protect children and families affected by IPCA.

iHope's vision is to build a fortified global network of human rights advocates to prevent IPCA cases and ensure the safe return and well-being of abducted children. The organization's impact has been recognized through various achievements, including successful family reunifications, participation in international conferences and workshops, and collaborations with embassies and other organizations. iHope continues to work tirelessly towards its vision of a world where families are no longer torn apart by IPCA.
