The BYO Development Foundation is a visionary non-profit organization rooted in the ideals of youth empowerment, community resilience, and sustainable development. Since its grassroots beginning in 2019 and formal establishment on January 27, 2025, under the leadership of Zihad Akanda, the foundation has become a beacon of hope for thousands across the Gaibandha region and beyond.

Dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities through skill development, education, healthcare, women empowerment, and humanitarian initiatives, BYO operates with a commitment to impact, inclusivity, and innovation. The organization’s unwavering focus on capacity-building and sustainable change positions it as a transformative force in northern Bangladesh.

The mission of BYO is to empower the youth of Bangladesh by developing their skills, enhancing leadership qualities, and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth. BYO aims to foster a sense of responsibility among young individuals to contribute to the nation’s progress through.

• Youth Empowerment & Skill Development: We provide vocational training and leadership development programs to equip young people with the skills they need for sustainable employment.

• Education & School Support: We believe in the power of education to break the cycle of poverty. We provide scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship to support students from low-income backgrounds.

• Emergency Relief: In times of natural disasters, we provide immediate assistance including food, clothing, medical support, and shelter to affected individuals and families.

• Healthcare: We work to improve healthcare access for underserved populations by providing free health check-ups, medical aid, and health education campaigns.

• Women Empowerment: Our programs focus on financial independence, skill development, and micro-financing to help women achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Since our inception, BYO Development Foundation has made significant strides in various areas, including:

• Providing over 2,500 nutritious iftar meals to orphaned and disadvantaged children during Ramadan.

• Distributing new clothes to more than 5,000 underprivileged children during Eid.

• Supported education for underprivileged children through scholarships and tutoring programs.

• Planted over 5,000 trees as part of our environmental conservation efforts.

• Engaged with over 50 communities through health, hygiene, and sanitation awareness campaigns.

• Supporting over 1,500 students with school supplies, scholarships, and mentorship.

• Delivering over 2,000 food relief packages and medical assistance to families affected by floods and other disasters.

• Empowering over 500 youth with vocational training and skills development.

• Partnering with national and international organizations to support sustainable development projects in the areas of sanitation, education, and healthcare.
