CVU - Committee of Voters of Ukraine (HQ)

Ukrainian public organization "Committee of Voters of Ukraine" (CVU) was established February 20, 1994 as an independent non-partisan organization with national status.

The mission of the NGO "Committee of Voters of Ukraine" is to create conditions for the realization of human rights and real democracy by:

- Education and activating specific individual, civil society institutions;

- Participation in the formulation and implementation of policy in priority areas CVU;

- Monitoring and control of public policy implementation in the relevant field;

- Interactions with stakeholders.

The key idea of the initiators of the establishment CVU was promoting democratic changes in the country, including through independent public monitoring of the election process and referendum process at the national and local level and lobbying of legislative changes. Since its inception, CVU based organization of used process methodology (which takes into account all key standards for election observation) carried out monitoring of each and every national election campaigns and campaigns of most of the local elections. Holding such large-scale activities to monitor the elections made possible by the development of regional offices CVU. Thus, at the beginning of 2013 in Ukraine were registered a total of 125 regional, district and city organizations (departments) CVU in all regions of the state.
