makesense empowers citizens to challenge the status quo and co-create inclusive, sustainable systems. We equip individuals and communities with the tools, networks, and methodologies they need to build resilience, protect ecosystems, and accelerate the transition toward a just and regenerative economy.

We operate through a decentralised model: we are part of the global makesense organisation, yet each regional hub has the autonomy to adapt the makesense toolbox to its local context, realities, and challenges.

In Asia, our work is structured around four core workstreams:???? Narrative Change

We support community leaders and cultural influencers to craft powerful, relatable narratives on climate and social impact issues.
Our goal is to spark meaningful conversations, shift public attitudes, and encourage communities to take collective action.

???? Civic Action

We cultivate the power of communities and civic movements to self-organize and drive solutions to the major challenges they face. We create open-source engagement methods and offer online and in-person training programs for citizens, organised communities and CSOs to leverage our toolbox.

???? Regenerative Entrepreneurship

We support early-stage changemakers in launching enterprises and civil society organisations that protect lands, oceans, and communities, helping build ecosystems that move beyond the status quo.

???? Resilient Workforce Development

We create pathways for workers, including those from disadvantaged or marginalised communities, to access meaningful jobs in the impact and green economy.
Because a just transition requires not only systems change, but also opportunities that uplift people, their families, and their nations.

makesense globally is a community of 120+ full-time team members. The Asia office brings together 15+ team members and a network of exceptional consultants across Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, and Jakarta. Together, we build movements, incubate solutions, and empower communities across Southeast Asia to shape a fairer and more sustainable future.
