Metsähallitus is a pioneer in a diverse bio-economy. We are a state-owned enterprise controlled by one third of Finland's land area. We handle and develop responsibly state-owned land and water areas so that they benefit the whole society as well as possible.We

- produce every tenth cubic metre of timber used for industrial purposes
- nurture natural and cultural values in multiple-use forests and in Western Europe’s largest protected areas
- pay more than a hundred million euros in dividends to the state every year
- develop the use of state-owned land, so that it benefits the whole of society to the fullest possible extent, from serving the interests of trade and industry to enforcing the Climate and Energy Strategy, and producing welfare services derived from nature
