Ethiopia GIS Society of Ethiopia

Established in 2006, the GIS Society of Ethiopia (GISSoE) promotes geospatial science and technology while supporting GIS professionals, academia, policymakers, and practitioners across the country. The Society plays a key role in advancing the understanding and application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in Ethiopia. The society also supports the expansion of GIS-based project development and education, builds the capacity of its members, and contributes to national development programs, policies, and decision-making processes. One of the Society’s flagship initiatives is its Annual National Conference, which fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity building in GIS and Remote Sensing.
