Water symbolizes the origin of life, fertility, transformation, purification, strength. Primarily, it is considered the starting point of life.

Nevertheless, the symbolism of water occupies actually polar opposites in our imagination: while it is the source of life (guarantees, for example, the proper functioning of the body), it is also causing diseases and destruction (see the case of a flood).

To ensure quality of life and a sustainable development, human kind has the challenge to ensure rivers, lakes and seas and human interaction don’t disrupt the natural cycle of water. Water as an essential element to life and component of most living beings, brings us to our very existence.
